Short description
SBB CFF FFS renewed a catenary system in St. Maurice railway station. This catenary system, which was approximately 40 years old, was an "N" catenary of the District I type. On the basis of the new switching concept and the increased speed, the two main tracks (1 and 2) were converted to an "R" catenary, type R1. An inspection of the catenary system for the shunting group was performed. The inspection of the shunting group was performed independently by the SBB CFF FFS catenary team. Kummler+Matter carried out the preliminary assembly of the support structures, rebuilt the support structures for the two main tracks for use as "R" catenaries and transferred the existing catenaries to the new support structures.
